16 декабря, после непродолжительной болезни, в возрасте 70 лет скончался Терри Аттли, бас-гитарист оригинального и всех последующих составов Smokie. Об этом вчера вечером сообщил официальный аккаунт группы.
О конкретных причинах смерти пока не сообщается. Ровно месяц назад у Терри умерла жена, Ширли, с которой они вместе прожили 45 лет.
Глубокие соболезнования родным и близким Терри, и всем нам, кто неравнодушен к истории группы. Это огромная и невосполнимая утрата для всех нас. Покойся c миром, Терри!

It is with very heavy hearts and tear-filled eyes that we share the news that our beloved friend and bandmate, Terry, has passed away after a short Illness.
Steve, Martin, Mick and Pete are devastated and deeply saddened by his sudden and unexpected passing. Terry was a dear friend, a loving father, and was an incredible person and musician.
We all feel extremely lucky to have shared such a long lifetime and the stage with him. Peace and love to all who knew Terry, and those he touched. We will miss him dearly.
Management asks our friends and colleagues around the world to respect the privacy of the family and band members at this time.

I was extremely shocked and saddened when Holly called me a few days ago to tell me of Terry’s passing.
I’ve known Terry since I was 12 years old when were at St. Bede’s school together and we shared many unique experiences over many years, not least the journey we had with the group through the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
We hadn’t seen each other very often over the last few years but we’ve always kept in touch and I’m very glad to have had the chance to see him recently at Shirley’s funeral although not realizing it would be for the last time.
My family and I send deepest sympathy to Lisa and Holly and their families. It’s an unthinkable situation to lose both your parents in such a short space of time and our hearts go out to them.
