ICE IS ... NICE?
Smokie's lead singer, Chris Norman, tells me that he made a bit of a fool of himself recently.
"We were on tour in Poland, and playing in this huge ice rink," he said. "Many of the people in the audience were actually standing on the ice."
"So, I thought it would be fun to leap off the stage and slide through the crowd on the ice. I took a gigantic jump, expecting to land quite a long way off, but all that happened was that I landed in a very large puddle!"
"My shoes and trousers were soaked! What had happened was that the ice had melted because of the heat generated by all the people standing on it!"
"I had to spend the rest of the concert wearing a red face and wet clothes!"
